There are still many former corrupt officials living the good life in those Western countries you mentioned, who are not on the wanted list because they managed to leave before Xi's anti corruption drive started. They first send their children abroad, ostensibly to study, then send huge sums of il- gotten loot to their children to buy expensivelkuxury properties and other investments, then they follow later with wife!  They have effectively escaped the skynet!  China should dig up the history of all those officials who are currently living abroad; it would be surprised to find that many are as corrupt as the current wanted lot!  The skynet only shows about 100 wanted officials, that is just the tip of the iceberg!  The actual number of corrupt officials now living abroad must total in the thousands!

For every one corrupt official arrested and repatriated, there are thousands still abroad enjoying themselves, far from the arm of the Chinese law!

Sorry to disagree with you,
"It IS the duty of every civil servant to report crimes."

Oh, yes it is.....
Civil servants take an oath to abide and defend the laws of the land.
Yes...
it is wishful that they all have the mind to step up against forces that do NOT want the truth out.
and there MUST be more protections for these officials.

I agree and the SkyNet initiative is definitely a good thing.

I just wish that there wasn't such ...

The OP came from western media sources.
Why would they spin that in China's favor?
I posted this to point out how serious China (CPC) is about corruption.
Can't see 200,000+ CPC members being caught, as just a "PR" scheme.
NEVER before, has such a wide scale crackdown happened in CPC history.

Do you think any country would support a former government worker who leaks state secrets on an in ...

In Snowden's case......
He exposed CRIMES done by the NSA, against the constitution and laws he pledged to uphold.
I consider him a hero, for risking his life and livelihood, to expose such crimes.

If China was serious about corruption...
they would encourage people to speakout and uncover such corruption.
They should also protect those who come forward.

I think the numbers are a lot higher, to what was caught by skynet.
My thinking was 100's or 1000's
North America is the "promised land" for corrupt officials.
No extrdition
Protection from communism.
They could always plead how they had to run away from communist persecution.
(along with millions of bucks)
