China's list of 333 U.S. product categories hit with duties includes coal, copper scrap, fuel, steel products, buses and medical equipment. Some business groups have warned about the impact of escalating tariffs.
CompTIA, a technology trade group, called the new U.S. tariffs on tech products "irresponsible and misguided."
"These tariffs will not only severely undercut the U.S.'s global competitiveness and leadership in cutting-edge technologies, but also threatens America's national security infrastructure," Elizabeth Hyman, the group's executive vice president for public advocacy, said in a statement.

Ford May Not Be the Last to Terminate a U.S. Model Over Tariffs

Breaking China’s Addiction to IP Theft
In the nineteenth century, countries recognized that inadequate protection for IP hurt global economic growth and disincentivized innovation (people invest less in innovation when their work can simply be stolen). In response, they created a series of agreements to protect IP and trade in the international market. China routinely ignores these agreements, subsidizing its own growth at the cost of global innovation. China has become a country that can innovate, but it is unwilling to give up the crutch of economic espionage and will never do so unless it is pressed.
We can take issue with the style of this administration in confronting China, and we can worry that it has not thought carefully about how to deal with the inevitable Chinese retaliation or how to construct a path for China and the United States to come to a new accord on trade. China will not change its behavior absent external pressure, and pushing back against the constant drain from Chinese IP theft is long overdue.

What's a shame that the President and vice president of the USA are slamming China's propaganda war against them!  They are diverting attentions away from their self-imposed harsh tariffs against China while being hurt ( themselves shooting their own feet ) very severely and badly enough to lose their pants before 2020 comes about : prognosis. Their own kind will bury them all but not China nor others being blamed.

The USA has thousands of presses and media in their favour as in "white supremacy collusion"; so one cannot see nor understand how China could drive such effective punishing slams against these presidents! Of course, finding a scapegoat like China has always been too easy for them to pick since the latter is about to overtake the USA in the economic sense out of fear of losing though they have been and are all losing nervously.

Sensing no end in sight, they are inventing tales by pressuring their presses to make more bloody noises about the South China Sea affairs though they have no means; and neither gotten reason nor excuse. The exception is to fabricate naval stories out of fears by navigating very carelessly into aliens’ territories which is the dirtiest form of military diplomacies that only ex-CIA-chaps-dominated WhiteHouse / Congress could very sinfully deliver: all about killings and nothing about peaceful livings. Just too bad, fellows!

No matter how you try, China can’t wash their hands. Pence’s speech came two days after a Chinese warship sailed within 45 yards of a US destroyer. Plus, as Pence delivered his address, Bloomberg published a report alleging that microchips designed and manufactured by the Chinese military were planted in server motherboards at factories supplying San Jose-based Supermicro, and later made their way into data centers controlled by dozens of US companies including Amazon and Apple, a major bank, and US government contractors. In the meantime, China does whatever it can to acquire technology (illegally if it can’t force them to hand it over) as well as impede foreigners from importing goods to them.
