If you thought you'd seen the last of Nokia's retro 3310 phone, think again.

Nokia is releasing another 3310 model that's capable of connecting to super fast 4G LTE speeds.

For now, the 4G 3310 will only be available in China, beginning in early February.

But, if the success of prior 3310 versions is any indicator, it's possible that these could roll out to additional locations some time in the future.

Nokia's retro-cool 3310 phone will now come with a 4G connection. Over the past several years, the company has released 2G and 3G versions of the iconic phone

Nokia's website doesn't indicate how much the device will cost, but the 3G version was priced at £49.99 ($66).

More details may be shared about the device at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in February, according to The Verge.

The 4G 3310, which comes in a muted blue or black color, also has a few other futuristic updates.

The phone is equipped to make HD voice calls, comes pre-loaded with a few 'hot mobile apps,' has a headphone jack and can be used as a WiFi hotspot.

Standard 4G is around five to seven times faster than 3G, offering theoretical speeds of up to 150Mbps.

HMD Global, which manufactures the phone, swapped out the 3310's old Java-based operating system and replaced it with YunOS, an Android-based operating system developed by Alibaba.

The 4G 3310 battery can handle phone calls for up to five hours on a single charge.

Rumors had been circulating for months that Nokia would release a 4G 3310.

Last December, leaked documents from China showed off the now-public device and correctly predicted that the 4G 3310 would run YunOS.

Reports noted that the 4G 3310 might come with stripped down versions of messaging apps like WhatsApp or Facebook, but those apps don't appear to be available on the latest version.

Nokia first announced that it would be revamping the retro 3310 phone at MWC in 2017.

It released 2G and 3G versions that were both available in Europe and the U.S.

The iconic handset was a massive hit with users back in 2000 and the relaunched version includes a month-long battery, 22 hours of talk-time, and even its popular game, Snake.

The 4G 3310 might look similar to its original predecessor, but Nokia did make some small changes to the phone's design.

The company replaced the inaugural 3310's monochrome screen, with a sleeker, more futuristic design and a color screen.

Since then, phone companies say the revamped 3310 has attracted huge interest.

Its what we need !

Indeed, an excellent device at the time...
I still keep mine in my mobile home old time drawer ...

However, for the average Chinese customer, resolution of your display based on its dimensions and the pixel count matters most.
Today, 4G is required to watch videos or play games.

Chinese mobile chip giant Qualcomm announced plans to build 5G phones as early as 2019 with some of the largest Chinese phone makers, including Lenovo, Xiaomi, ZTE, Oppo and Vivo.
