(Shine)A traffic police officer in Shaoyang, Hunan Province has become an Internet sensation for creating cute red light countdown moves which greatly amused drivers and pedestrians.

In footage circulated online, Liang Siqi can be seen counting down 12 seconds for waiting vehicles at an intersection with cute gestures and dance steps.

He got the idea after realizing the traffic lights lack the function of counting down the seconds until they change.

His cute moves and smile impressed passing drivers and pedestrians who said his effort really lifted their spirits during the cold weather.

According to a staffer from Shaoyang traffic police detachment, Liang is very passionate about his work. "He wanted the drivers to not feel so bored while waiting at the traffic lights."

Chinese netizens were also amused, applauding him for his creativity, with one commenting, "What a lovely policeman — I never thought directing traffic could be so personalized!"
