Not of the actual point to be discussed but from other points from which this point could be considered within the context of lobsters being dead or alive or Cheaper or more expensive

I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, and lived there for many, many years. The ONLY way to cook lobster it to immerse it, still live, into boiling water. The animal dies instantly, and the meat stays fresh. Lobster that has been previously killed, and then boiled, has very tough, unpalatable meat. This was also taught to the first settlers to the region, by the local First Nations people, hundreds of years ago.
Stupid people are like Glowsticks. You want to snap them in half and shake the crap out of them until they see the light.

A lot of restaurants have killed lobster for years by putting the lobster in a blast chiller for a few minutes, this causes a rapid reduction in body temperature and the heart fails.  Then it's popped in to the boiling water.

I do agree with seneca, there are some sadistic ways to kill seafood and many are found in Asia.

We have lobster every New Year eve.

They are $6.00 to $9.00 a pound at Soby's.

And yes, it is the only way to cook them.
