To sell, sold, sold  ...

Haven't you noticed my claim in the bracket at beginning of the post?

We have 兵 for soldier. -------丘 is ‘hilock’and the bottom part ‘八’symbols your legs. So 兵 shows that soldier is standing on the hill looking around on duty for the security!

卒 is more tasty than 兵! Have you heard of the phrase ‘shoulder-to-shoulder solders’? If you play Chinese chess, the two co-working soilders are quite powerful who could kill any approaching enemy ahead! If you kill one of them by attacking from the side or the back, the other soldier would kill you in return!--------This is an important military theory: If you want to win the war, you must tell the men why you launch the battle and let all soldiers unite together forming a firm fist!  Unity means strength and sometime such strength would become so great that may destroy anything in the world. Chair Mao was good at the lesson who had led the Chinese army from victory to victory even with the poor equipments!

How to understand 战士 in Chinese as ‘soldier’?
占 means ‘conquer’since its upper part is one of your legs and feet and 口 should represent a piece of (square)land; 戈 is a special kind of ancient weapon that I have never seen!------In this way 战 means ‘fighting’ that is must-be if you want to safeguard some land or invade some country!
士 is ‘man’.  Why? Its cross ‘+’is the physical body and the bottom short horizon stroke symbols the ground.

(士 is quite different from 土 (earth)which bottom line is longer than that of the cross since one single dust (+)is so tiny if compared with your body!)

Furthermore,we may think 士 in another way which is +(ten)plus ‘一(one). Its structure tells us not all men could join the army. Instead only one tenth of the youth are allowed to become a soldier who must be strong enough chosen one from ten!

Now let's have a look at 國(country): its inside is 或 which shows a man(口)is standing on the g ...

What is 国 in Chinese?
Now I have got the real meaning of 国(country)that would be as interesting to you as my note to 國 some days ago!
Obviously its 口 is the boundary-line; Then how to understand 玉(jade)?
------What inside the boundary-line is our beautiful territory. We should take all the land as one single piece of jade.  If someone wants to invade our country and conquer some place, I think the jade would be broken which value would decrease a lot!  So we must do our best to keep the whole treasure as perfect one permanently!
---------We are allowed to think of 玉 from another angle. You may take 玉 as the King(王)who has one piece of jade on the chest for beauty! In China we had such saying:All the land of the country belongs to the Emperor. It is general knowledge that the king could represent the state!
-----玉 symbols ‘wealth, peace and happiness’that is so nice to take place 或(in 國)!

      How to be a general

In Chinese, 将 is the second top leader in the army who is directly led by the commander.

The first component of 将 is a kind of weapon with long-stick as handle. In some TV-drama you could see one ancient general riding a strong horse and fighting  again the enemy with such a ‘gun';

The 夕 looks like half of the Sun(日).  Here I think 夕 should be the scene: When the enemy approach, the guard-soldier began to burn the wolf-feces and let the heavy smoke rise up into the sky and fellow-men could easily see the warning-signal and take quick reaction! ------------So 夕 should be 'fire and smoke'.  Another proof is 囱 (chimney)which square is your house in which fire is burning with smoke rising up from the roof!

寸 represent one person。----------对(facing): both 又 and 寸 should mean ‘body’;

将 is such man who is powerful with ‘long gun’ in hand and has the right to declare the starting of the battle. --------------Or you may think that: when the enemy invade our country, it would be 将(general)who has half of the energy of the Sun and could drive off the invaders
