Many Chinese are judged by their performance, as are Chinese students. They are expected to achieve high results and are punished if they fail. Tests and evaluations are crucial to success here. Therefore it is inevitable that some Chinese will cheat in order to achieve results. Also it is still accepted that in China cheating is clever if you are not caught.  With the serious crack-down on corruption, this is also an area of social responsibility that should improve in time. Social change takes time and effort. Meanwhile such cheating damages China's reputation in the world. Sad.
English teacher and education adviser. China needs a teaching profession with less fear and more trust and honesty.
