China should treat Duterte with the respect he deserves because it's rare for the Philippines to have a leader like him who has taken pains not to antagonize China.

No but he's the most pro-China President in Philippine history.

China needs to manage its foreign affairs with more finesse than before.

Duterte is sticking his neck out for China despite heavy pressure from hostile forces.

China needs to accommodate him more instead of trying to undercut him.

Strength is not measured by fear but by the ability to instill awe.
