In the latest speech of Trump, he once moretalked about the trading of China. Openly, he said China had totally controlledits exchange rates, which has caused lots of problems to America in trading andother areas. He showed his opinion that he doesn’t support TPP, for it willbring lots of bad effects to America but be helpful to those countries whichcontrol the exchange rates such as China. Therefore, he would take measures tosolve the problems if he is successful to be the next president of America.

In other words, if Trump becomes the president, a war of economy betweenChina and America might happen. As a businessman, he clearly knows how to make profitsfrom business. He again and again stresses that he will put up prices in tarifffor China. Both countries have argued about the exchange rates for many years, but as time goes by, we can see that both countries have profited from itthough it goes with lots of arguments.

Is it as serious as Trump said? Is it the time for America to fightagainst China in trading? What will happen when Trump starts a war betweenChina and America in trading? Do you have any ideas?

If Trump becomes POTUS and implements his protectionist policies, he would have to pull the USA out of NAFTA, TPP, TPIP and the WTO. The countries most dependent on trade with the USA will suffer. China's foreign trade with the USA is large but still less than 5% of its GDP. Countries like Canada, Mexico, Germany and Japan which have a higher proportion of their GDP tied to their foreign trade with the USA will suffer the most.

China should negotiate more FTAs with other countries to offset the negative impact of future protectionism in the USA. The positive impact that reduced dependence on the US market would bring to China is the reorientation of its export industries away from low-cost manufacturing to higher-value knowledge-based technology and services industries.

'China should negotiate more FTAs with other countries '

Britain is free to make its own FTA deals now. China and the UK could benefit a lot though Obama won't be making any more empty threats to send Britain to the back of the queue!
