I lived on Ludlow St. for a year in 1990. It's not a cheap area to live even back then. We lived in a one room apartment, the toilet was in a closet and the shower was in the middle of the room next to the refrigerator. It cost 800USD monthly. But it did have a fireplace :) And Katze's Deli was on the corner. It started to get trendy aka gentrified during that time. Can't imagine what that flat goes for today. But hey, if you want to live in Manhattan you gotta pay. There"s no place like home & there's no place like NYC...
