North Korea's moves are always timed to be one step ahead of China's reunification, whether peaceful or not, because once China and Taiwan are reunited, China has very little need for North Korea.  Knowing that Taiwan's new leadership is now empowered to secede at a moment's notice, it having seized the Taiwan parliament's majority as well, North Korea is desperate to up the ante to achieve its own domination of South Korea, or the signing of a Peace Treaty with the US and South Korea.  Expect the noise to up by several decibels in quick succession, and when nothing works, expect another Korean War to break out on the slightest provocation or pretext.

North Korea wants China to fight the Second Korean War on its side, rather than fight a war of Taiwan reunification with nothing left for North Korea to rely on afterward.

I'd prefer the war to be fought on other shores, far far from here.

Which shore would be convenient to you, remember you will be in the military fighting
