Such fussing. It's obvious that Taiwan will rejoin China fairly soon. And it'll have lots of local autonomy (more than Hong Kong). One country: two systems. Then the systems will become increasingly-similar. Adding Hong Kong and Taiwan will bring more democracy to China. It's a good thing. And Japan is not even a factor!
What's on your mind...

The fault for the fiasco rests squarely on the shoulders of the KMT leadership, especially that of Chu Lilun, its chairman, who refused to be his party's candidate for the presidency.  This led to Hong Siuchu volunteering to run for the president's office, even though she is not as well known as her rival, Tsai Ingwen.  Now that Hong has gotten more popular, and more acceptable as a person, even if not as a politician, to even the DPP base, for the KMT to revoke her nomination as its candidate, it would have to imply that the KMT intends to lose to DPP by default, without even a fight, which is all that Hong could promise her party.

Hong is right to compare herself with Yue Fei, who was sacrificed by his own emperor for being too loyal to the real emperor who at that time was a captive of the enemy.

If the choice of Hong is wrong, then what is right?

THE PHENOMENON OF HONG SIUCHU'S CANDIDACY BEING OPPOSED BY BOTH THE KMT (HER OWN PARTY THAT VOTED HER ITS CANDIDATE) AND THE DPP SHOWS THAT THESE TWO PARTIES AT THE VERY LEAST ARE IN BED TOGETHER IN ENGINEERING THE SEPARATION OF TAIWAN FROM CHINA.

FOR THE ORDINARY TAIWANESE WHO STAND TO LOSE EVERYTHING FROM THEIR HIGH STAKES GAMBLE OF EVENTUALLY SECEDING FROM CHINA, THIS KIND OF DECEPTION IS A GRIEVOUS ACT OF BETRAYAL OF THEIR INTERESTS.

IT IS TIME FOR THE MILLENNIALS WHO STAND THE MOST TO LOSE FROM THE ANACHRONISTIC PRO-JAPANESE AGENDA TO MARCH ON THE STREETS IN SUPPORT OF HONG SIUCHU, WHO OFFERS THEM THE BEST CHANCE FOR LASTING PEACE AND LASTING PROSPERITY.  LET THOSE WHO WANT TO BE JAPANESE SUBJECTS APPLY TO THE JAPANESE FOREIGN MINISTRY AS JAPANESE NATIONALS, AND IMMIGRATE TO JAPAN, SAYONARA - AND THAT GOES FOR THE KMT BACKERS OF THE DPP.

Taiwan is a democracy.

And will prefer to align themselves to Japan than China.

That is not negotiable.
