Only time cures the pain, I found, but some things help:
Go out with your frriends, play a sport, walk among nature!
Listen only to upbeat songs!
Watch funny shows and movies, go with a friend if you can.
Try to find something to keep you busy!
Write poetry, but not about love and saddness!
Read an adventure novel.
Try to smile at everyone you can!
Dedicate each day that you awaken to God, and when the saddness come back, pass it onto God, for if you are sad, then God must be sad too, perhaps God will show you how to come back to center, if you allow its calm to come over.
When I feel pain, I usually chat with my best friend, speak out all the sadness or buy a lot of snacks and turn on the TV, enjoying the snacks and the show.
I often released and forgot it after chat or eating.
