Recently, there have been a number of reports on China's "professional beggars"—those who beg for a living during the day, and then spend their earnings at nice restaurants or out shopping in the evening. This lifestyle can sometimes yield more money per month than an ordinary white-collar salary. However,  few beggars are professional ones. Many do need help, and beg due to various difficulties. If passers-by begin refusing to donate to beggars just because a few are preying on public sympathy, those who are really struggling will suffer the most.

Should begging be prohibited on subways?

It already is banned at least in Shanghai subway. And as usual the law/rule is not enforced.

The worst beggars are the ones with monkeys harassing people near nice restaurants. Where is chenguan when you need them to beat up this human trash.

Only old people i am willing to give money to...
there is often a young man around 30 who brings his child to the streets to beg in CQ....
i feel sorry that the child has a work shy father bringing him up....
if you want something in life get off your backside, and do it yourself!! don't rely on others to do it for you

yes, begging should be banned on the subway.
Some beggars get quite aggressive and there is not always somewhere to go to get away from them.

Yeah, we also can see those who are not handicapped in physical but kneel to beg for money on the street. evidently, this kind of people have ability to earn money if they engaged in laborial work such as construction site. those who pretend to be a disabled indiviual also has been exposed by medias. In addition to this sort of way to beg money in public, there also have more approaches to take for making money. Althought they were stricken with poverty due to the suffering of  physical handdicapped and had lost the labor to earn money, this group people also can appeal to government so as to get assisstance.
