How were the votes made and counted? With paper slips and counted by all-party officials or by machines such as the US Diebold? US Diebold machines were able to rig elections and was one reason why Bush Jr "won" narrowly.

Taiwan has made a dire mistake! Democratic Progressive Party is heading nowhere with mainland China. That created slow economic growth in Taiwan. Now that DPP has won and will give KMT more pressure to yield to its demands. By that more economic problems are looming ahead. Taiwan is heading for disaster at a pace faster than before. Good news is when DPP gains power, its previously disgraced president Chen Shuibian will be granted full amnesty and probably back into power. Then a serious internal struggle to destroy KMT will begin. Good Show on its way!

Politic is an evolution that  must be constantly churn to met the climate of each day in order to be inline with what is happening in and around you and that include the world affair. If not by day then by hour or minute. With wired world, the news will hit the streets within seconds if not minutes across and lawmakers must be ready to response.

It is utmost that the people must felt the lawmakers willingness to engage it as it happen. The average person may contribute 80, 90 or even 100 per centum to their job but for lawmakers it has to be over the hill in order to meet the people expection and not to let the electorate down.

It is sad to see that this is not happening and that feeling drives the change when the pen become mightier than the sword when they cast the votes. The cross on the ballot paper becomes the report card of that lawmaker and its party and from the result shown it is clear that change it expected. Hopefully they can response to that call on time and win back those support.
