China's attitude is rooted in its Confucian philiosophy, to not do unto others what it does not want others to do to itself,

Ah! That explains the indifference of government workers here in China. It's SOP. I had no idea that Chinese people lack compassion and empathy by choice. Kind of a strange philosophy if you ask me.

What happens to Chinese people who dare to treat another human being like a human being??

China's role in the APEC as the leader who puts aside his personal gains, in order to achieve a greater collective gain, is something that simply does not exist in the game theory literature of the West.  Letting a world famous worshipper of WWII War Criminals attend a meeting of world leaders, and shake the hand of the leader of the host country, also the historical victim of Japanese cruelty and barbarism, in order that the meeting can focus on its agenda of economic cooperation, free trade, and cross-border investment, is more statesmanly than any Western attempt to cobble a Coalition of the Coerced against a peaceful Asian country.

No sooner than Abe had agreed to talk to China about their disagreements than his foreign minister said Japan's four point agreement with China is not valid.

Yesterday, Abe signaled that Japan should be joined at the hips with Western military powers in countering the legitimate claims of China, appealing to the use of force, in effect, in resolving border disputes with China.

It is strange that Japan would appeal to a greater force, when with even the minimum application of force by either side, Japan would instantaneously have ceased to exist.

Ah, Abenomics it must be!  The Mutual Defense Treaty insures Japan against any war with China, and Abe intends to collect on it.  Abe once again is gladly leading his country in jumping over a cliff, in order to collect on its insurance policy.
