Americans will believe anything from my experience

Oh yes they are so gullible it's not funny.

Some stunt's I've pulled:

Convinced a NY woman flying to Sydney that if she got up at 5.00am she'd see kangaroos and emu running down George and Pitt streets.

Convinced a Texan that in Brisbane (Brizz-Bane) that crocodiles infest public swimming pools and they've even been known to attack people in shopping centre car parks.  Same woman believed me when I told her that it's legal to hunt Koala's in the suburbs as they are considered a pest.

Fooled a Californian on a flight from LA to Sydney that when travelling in country Victoria she might get eaten by a Bunyip.

Many more over the years, I'm the most evil sod with tourists on aircraft, especially Yanks.

I never understood that: in Texas, one can bring their bike onto the subway or light rail. There are ...

But they are not in Texas and should know and obey the local rules

I agree. If they don't know local rules, then common sense should prevail. Beijing subways are far too crowded to allow bicycles.
However, it seems that Texas mentality prevails.
P.S. I only mentioned Texas, but many stateside cities that have public transportation allow bicycles.
The journey IS the destination!
