So he blackmailed them somehow? Or seduced? What did he do wrong?

Seduction is not the correct word really, coerced is more accurate, the clue being in the OP's post where it states "with sexually harassing all his female doctoral students and seducing them into extramarital sex"

As to what's wrong with it, where do we start?

It's a breach of duty of care for a start plus there are other issues such as:

Potentially marking up the student who is having sex with the lecturer, professor etc.

Disciplinary issues in the teaching environment. This occurs regardless of the institution type.

Potential for favouritism in the academic environment in terms of references and other non marking of papers and exams, tests etc.

The possibility of harm to the students ability to study and deal with life.

These are just some of the potential problems that can be encountered.

In the workplace many companies have bans on employees dating or being married as this can lead to conflicts of interest and bias and so forth as well as the high probability that a couple dating will break up and then embroil the office in some pretty bitter "office politics".

Having sex with multiple partners (several women on the go at once)  is the inference of your post regarding your own sexual proclivities. I hope you never date a Chinese woman, as the first sign of such carrying on will end up with you being dumped and your name sullied thought the Chinese community in the state you live in.  The Chinese community in QLD is very tight knit and the bush telegraph is highly effective in Australia.

Good luck and I suggest you take a short course in ethics sometime.
