THERE IS NOT MUCH HOPE FOR CHINA AVOIDING ANOTHER TAM IF IT ACTS LIKE THE MONG KOK PATRIOTS DID NOT REALLY SAVE THE DAY.

Leung was very heavily vetted before he became the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, that only means he had shown loyalty to China and a certain degree of administrative ability.  But, using history as the mirror for the present, we must realize that Zhao was ten times more heavily vetted, by none other than Deng himself, and yet, he ended up supporting the students at TAM, who were financially, logistically and even militarily backed by his own faction in government, demanding Deng step down from all posts, meaning the post of the chairman of the military commission, and all his other appointees resign from their cabinet positions, so past credentials is no guarantee of future performance.

Negotiating with traitors and criminals who do not represent the majority of the people of Hong Kong is simply a way to keep their ideas and demands alive, so that they can come back again, this time minus the "Triads" of Mong Kok.

Beijing is blind as a bat in the noon day sun.  You begin to worry about its intelligence, finally.  Sadly.  China is allowing itself to be dragged into a second TAM, after having virtually escaped from it due to the sudden surge of street support from the residents of Mong Kok.  It is not willing to show appreciation for the patriotism of the Mong Kok residents, because it wants all the CREDIT for itself, for "defusing" the Occupy Central protest movement.  Everyone who knows anything knows the Mong Kok counter-Occupy movement was what really turned the tide, which is why the Fifth Column is so angry at the "Triads".
