The world existed before the computer. It's invention has taken man a long way forward technological ...

Computers are the final step forward in technology needed to bring about communism.
Computers can run the world with no need for kickbacks, profit, corruption, or glory.. or any
other attributes of the master/slave paradigm of capitalism.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?

The owners of the U.S. already has a bounty on the head of one whistle blower who had to run for his life to Russia.

There are bound to be other lesser known "Edward Snowdens" who have "committed suicide".

Yeah, that shot to the back of the head is such a hard way to commit suicide too.

Especially with both hands tied behind the back.

Tough question and there's no real answer.  First off it depends on how you define a computer.

Computers are used extensively in modern process control applications, controlling everything from how making cornflakes to beer, electricity, gas and water supply systems, aircraft and trains.  They are even being used in washing machines, refrigerators and even some cookers for home use.

Many of our current basics in terms of food staples, water and entertainment would disappear completely if all computers were eliminated, communications systems would fail, no TV, no radio, no broadcasts, oil refining would cease to occur and all current commercial flights would be grounded.  Military fighters etc would be inoperable as they are aerodynamically unstable and require computers to keep the aircraft in the air. Transport systems would fail, no buses, trains or elevators or escalators. No electricity generation either and no water for cities or towns, no sewage disposal either.

The picture gets worse as time goes on, after a few days food supplies would run out, stores would be unable to replenish stocks and there would be no deliveries except by the few vehicles that don't have engine management systems using computers.  At this point cities would start to break down and panic set in. The hospitals would be rendered useless after a short period of time and society would rapidly plunge in to chaos.

Literally in the first few weeks probably tens of millions would die, there would be massive riots and outbreaks of panic, and that's just the start.
