29 August 2014.

Republicans in Congress have begun their most forceful push yet in urging President Barack Obama to begin a military campaign into Syria to defeat the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

"One of the key decisions the President is going to have to make is air power in Syria. We cannot give (ISIS) a base of operations," Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, said on "Fox News Sunday."

For nearly three years, Obama has refused to engage in a complicated civil war in Syria where different factions are fighting each other and attempting to topple President Bashar al-Assad.

The President has actively defended his decision to not get involved in the war-torn country.
But now that ISIS, which gained prominence and power in Syria, is expanding its scope, the domestic calls for the President to act in Syria are loud.

Conservatives pushing for military action dominated the Sunday political talk shows less than one week after an ISIS militant with a British accent beheaded American journalist James Foley in a video of his killing.

The first thing to do is to table the details, history and evidence of the establishment at UN.

Then the UN should send an US led mission to take out the establishment. US should be refrained from being authorized to bomb indiscriminately. The Syrian and Iraqi Governments are to be given adequate UN military protection. This means massive UN troops should be sent to bolster and mix with Syrian Government troops. The choice of selection of this should be given to the Syrian and Iraqi Governments.

Everyone knows that terrorists' primary skill is to blend into with the innocent and the number of terrorists is not small. Can't it go to millions? If proper Governments understand succession planning so too terrorists, if proper Governments understand risk management and mitigation so too terrorists (meaning they will reduce their exposure by mixing with the public at large) etc. From the news reported, terrorists are not uneducated village people, it appears they can fly planes like 9/11 so they are adequately educated and knowledgeable at least if not even equally intelligent. So how can conventional war methodology take out these misfits?

US' bombing strategy is outdated and to be retired permanently unless US has ulterior motives.
