I have never been there,
but some need-to-go attractions according to tour guide booklet are just  ...

Gulangyu is so small there isn't much to do anyway. I did enjoy the piano museum.

Gulangyu is a fine place to relax if you keep away from the area around the ferry dock which is always over crowded, get off the well traveled paths and enjoy the scenery

There are still a few quietr spots, Chinese tourists seem to go in herds and follow each other missing out many good bits, I first noticed this many years ago in Kong Lin, QuFu.

Xiamen is pretty boring, that's exactly why one should go there, to relax. Riyuegu hot springs is probably the best hot springs I've been to in China.
