Career Planning

Popularity 6Viewed 4905 times 2016-6-29 13:11 |Personal category:education|System category:News| different, national, released, passing, college

The scores of the national entrance exams for colleges had been released. Students who took part in the exams have already got their own scores and the minimum passing scores for each grade have been shown in different areas.

Lots of students are worrying about how to choose a right major and college for themselves as their priority, though they have some reference books, such as Colleges admissions directory, The Instruction for how to file the intention for colleges, and so on. They are facing an important choice in their life, but many of them have no their own opinions. It is the reason why they find it hard to finish the tasks. It is a problem about career planning.

Talking about Career Planning, we see that it is a lack of education in our schools. There is no a good system for it in our education, including curriculum, related courses, related activities and so on in primary school, or secondary school. Students learn lots of things only from books. There is less experience for them such as directly going to some factories or doing practical operation. Besides, lots of students have no a long-term plan. So when now they have only several days for them to choose which way they will go in the future, they hesitate in this crossing road.

For those who have already prepared for it before, they will be calmer.

Career planning is a big topic. Would you like to talk something about it?

I guess most people's first job is not their ideal one ..

Very, very few high school graduates entering college have any idea what they want to do later on in life, and at 18, 19 years of age this is absolutely normal. In a modern society, a college graduate's career may not have that much to do with his/her field of study.

I don't think so. Those who find it hard to file his intention for majors have not spent much time thinking about this matter.

It might not be like that. For most people, the first job they get is what they think it easier to get and easier to make money for their life or support their families.

After we have spent 12 years learning at school it is embarrassed for us to tell others that we don't what to do in the future. It is really an incredible education we have. That's what we should change in our education.

Many university students are there because their families TOLD them what to study, not because they have actually thought about their own future.
It does not take aptitude, ability or personal preference into account at all.

  • Will dropping of population restrict China’s development? 2018-12-20 04:52

The environment does matter, but I doubt the population of over 1 billion would drop to 0.1 billion so quickly. I habitually invite students to see these issues globally, and that way to habitually put comments about China's policies into a globally influential context, as is appropriate for a people who sit in the UN Security Council and who have significant gold reserves. A small % of people are concerned for the world facing water shortages. The global population has been doubling in half the time since the 1700s without any wars making a dent in the population explosion, and that is obviously the direct result of mismanaged banks making huge quantities of money freely available so people too easily live indoors and raise so many children. During the past few centuries, national policies were to increase populations because of fear of war with a neighbouring country. But in the past decade, we hear of military leaders in some countries starting to openly wish, online, that they could address threats to the environment as national threats to safety. However, my friends in philosophy point out that the evidence of natural disasters has not convinced some policy makers around the world. Of course, China is known for making green cities: a step toward sustainable urban development. Imagine a few countries in the world able to re-regulate banks and manage the economy to reduce the population explosion, manage international relations to live without fear of war, and so manage to lead international care for sustaining our environment. Walter Rothschild wrote a book listing extinct species of birds, so that our population explosion crowds many species out of life is known to bankers. I hope survival issues matter to policy makers in any country.
