This is  a  piece  of  early  news  from  the  China Daily :
A father tried to fool police into believing his two biological daughters were runaways he found in a doorway because he wanted a boy and could not afford to keep the girls.
The man surnamed Guo from Chongqing municipality called the police on Monday and claimed to have found the two children.
However, police soon discovered it was a lie.
Guo's mother admitted the children were the man's biological children, but he really wanted a son. She also claimed Guo had got into debt building a new house, felt stressed and planned to give  up custody of his own daughters.
After discovering the truth, the police reported Guo's situation to the local government who immediately sent rice, cooking oil and some daily necessities to Guo's family and promised to apply for subsidies for them.
Guo also got a job at a nearby factory with the help of the local police.

It  had  been  a  common  practice in  the  Chinese  rural  areas  to  throw  away  the  child , born  or  unborn ,  once  discovered  that  it  was  a  ''she '' instead  of  a  ''he''. Sons  were  much  more  prefered  than  daughters.  And  this  has  caused  serious  problem  of  gender  imbalance  in  China .

Looking  into  the  Western  history ,  the  gender  bias  also  occurred.  Such  as  in  the  issue  of  voting-right in  Britian . The  British  women  were  not  allowed  to  vote  until  the  time  of  World  War  I. Women  activists  fighting  for  it  were  labelled  as  ''abnormal'  in  social  life and  would  be  put  into  prison .(All  from  the  e-video drama  "the  end  of  the  parade" by  the  british  writer  Ford  m.  Ford .

I  have  read  some  books  about  the  Chinese  overseas  students studying  in  the  U.S. Some  of  them  wre  seeking  a  different  lifestyle  other  than  that  in  China . Generally , their  version  of   the   so-called  American  Dream  consisting  of  a  house, a  car,  and  a dog . Apparently in  Mr. Guo's Chinese Dream ,  there  should  be  a  son, a house and  so  on , no  matter  how  hopeless  the  condition is .

And  the  bright  side  here  is , the  government  came  to  the  rescue, to  provide  the  father  a  job ,  the  daily  necessities  for  the  family ,  even  to  support  the  children .      That's  a  piece  of  news  with  a positive  sense .
