I have not been to ‘Bei Ning’ park for almost 20 years. It holds lots of good happy childhood memories. It is the nearest located theme park from where I used to live growing up. It is also well known for its historic past.

Ningyuan Garden is located on the north of Tianjin's North Station, north of North Zhongshan Road, it is a time-honored landscape garden. Originally, in 1906 Ningyuan Garden was a government-owned plantation in the late Qing Dynasty. During the period of the Republic of China, as the tangled warfare existed among warlords, the plantation gradually dilapidated. In 1930 (the 19th year of the Republic of China), Beining Railway Bureau purchased the plantation and expanded it into a garden, named “Ningyuan Garden” from the meaning of “accomplishing something lasting by leading a quiet life” in Zhu Geliang‘s The Admonish to My Son. In 1937, Japanese invaded China. The southeast of the garden became barracks for Japanese soldiers. The building in the middle of the lake was then rebuilt into a Japanese sanatorium, only leaving a path from west gate to Four Sides of the Hall as touring route. After the Liberation War, the former classical architectures were restored several times. it became the most large-scale and well-preserved modern public garden in Tianjin. In February 2010, authorised by Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, Hebei District Committee and District Government carried out improvement and restoration on the garden.

Yes, according to its history, it is originally used as a planting garden, but in my memory, the most exciting thing was taking rides in the park!! But it is pity that I did not take any photos at moment, I accidentally found out some pictures of those rides cause my tears....really. I think everyone must have one sweet memory in the heart, they are precious.
Anyway the reformation of the park is based on people's will. After improvement, its function turns back to the planting garden again. Last time I went to the park, it gave me a surprise, I never realised that the park is that big, new roads look wider than before, building and flowers after planning, make the garden look tidy and fresh. Some people were there doing exercises and some leisure and recreational activities.

One thing was noticed, the city train was just up in the sky, such a modern and natural scenery combination view.
