Serial Entrepreneur Dedicates Her Life to Career, Helping Society

An entrepreneur from Guilin, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, has been committed to helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds for the past few years after she started three successful businesses.

Xie Yuhua says she devotes her efforts to contributing to society and looking after her family. As an entrepreneur, she has seen many of the changes brought about by the country's reform and opening-up policy.

When Xie was in her 20s, she worked as a general manager of a youth travel agent at Guilin Committee of the Communist Youth League. She earned a stable salary there.

In 1990, however, Xie resigned from her secure job and set up a clothing factory. Xie built a large clothing company from scratch.

By 1995, she had owned three factories, covering 5,000 square meters. She had 10 million yuan in fixed assets, employing more than 300 workers.

The factory was developed into a major base for producing foreign export commodities and the products were sold in Europe, the U.S., Japan, Hong Kong and other developed countries and regions.

In the late 90s, Xie sold the factory and started an auction business.

In 2002, Xie established Guangxi Sanzheng International Auction Company and took up the post of chairwoman.

Xie has always been insisting on honest business management and upholding the principles of being "open, fair and just".

Last year, Xie set up a trading company in the U.S., which mainly sells famous brand goods from China and local products from the region of Guangxi.

The company has set up affiliated agencies in California and New Jersey to target Chinese communities, markets and restaurants overseas, said Xie.

Xie is confident her third startup would be a great success as it is related to the development of the initiative called Intelligent Manufacturing in China.

After her mother was diagnosed with diabetes and lost her sight, Xie took good care of her sick mother with her husband until she passed away.

Later, Xie sold her house and moved in together with her parents-in-law so as to better take care of them. She spends time traveling with them and often gives them presents on holidays.

Caring Mothers

In 2011, Xie was selected as head of the Guilin Association of Women Entrepreneurs.

Since afterwards, Xie has been devoted to promoting the establishment of a volunteer service team called Weekend Caring Mothers, which carries out various activities, including paying visits to orphans, children with disabilities, impoverished children, left-behind children whose parents work outside as migrant workers, and old people who live alone.

Because of their contribution, the team has been conferred with many titles including the Best National Volunteer Service Organization and National Women's Civilized Post, among others.

"To be a professional woman made me happy; to be someone successful who can give back to society makes me even happier," said Xie.
