The festive scene of families decorating their homes with Christmas lights, stockings, and tree toppers is a cherished tradition in America. Yet, few realize that nearly 90% of these holiday decorations come from Yiwu, a city in China’s Zhejiang province known as "Christmas Town." The heart of this trade is Yiwu’s massive wholesale market—the world’s largest—spanning nearly 1,000 acres. Here, buyers find endless holiday items, from musical Santas to artificial trees, alongside other popular U.S. goods like MAGA hats and camping gear.
However, the market now faces uncertainty due to steep U.S. tariffs imposed under President Trump, disrupting long-standing trade ties between the two economic giants and causing concern among Yiwu’s vendors.

War criminal, The Donald, has postponed the tariffs, keeping only those on China and the 10% tariff. One article suggested that at about 15%, the tariffs would maximise the revenue, in accordance with the Laffer curve.
The tariffs risk a stagflation. The Great Satan can't afford a collapse in revenue from a stagnation and inflation would push up interest costs too.
