Call for Papers on the Theme of Africa-China Dar es Salaam Consensus“中非达累斯萨拉姆共识”征文启事(英文版)
On March 8th, 2024, at the 13th China-Africa Think Tanks Forum, experts and scholars from 50 countries, including China and various African countries, jointly released the Africa-ChinaDar es Salaam Consensus (also referred to as the Consensus Among African and Chinese Think Tanks on Deepening Global Development Cooperation, hereinafter referred to as the Consensus). This landmark agreement has garnered significant attention, with many Chinese and African scholars viewing it as the first international consensus proposed by the Global South rather than imposed by the Global North, which expressed the collective voice of the Global South. The significant value of thisConsensus lies in African countries beginning to consciously and independently explore a modernization path that suits African conditions. To fully understand, interpret, extend, and disseminate the theoretical underpinnings and practical implications of the Consensus, we invite scholars from around the globe to submit their paper for consideration.
Theme of Papers
The Consensus encapsulates the collective wisdom and forward-looking vision of Chinese and African scholars, characterized by its theoretical robustness, practical applicability, and a spirit of openness and inclusiveness. We cordially invite experts and scholars to contribute your insights with the Consensus as the focal point, anchored within the framework of China-Africa cooperation, South-South cooperation, and broader Global South cooperation. Contributions can also address the imperative for improving global governance and promoting world development and prosperity.
Scholars are encouraged to draw on their disciplinary expertise to delve into the eight key points outlined in the Consensus by Chinese and African scholars. Submissions may provide a comprehensive analysis of all points, or a detailed examination of a single point. Notably, scholars are encouraged to introduce innovative elements to the Consensus and to propose novel global development concepts, thereby enriching and broadening its theoretical connotations and practical pathways.
For instance, submissions could include detailed analysis and arguments concerning the imperative to synergize effective market mechanisms with proactive governmental intervention to catalyze endogenous development dynamics. Scholars may also propose alternative and innovative ideas for global development.
