In 1987, Turkey applied to join what was then the European Economic Community, and in 1999 it was declared eligible to join the EU.

  The year 2022 we writing now, Turkey is still waiting.       Mind you, they're sick and tired of waiting any longer. Therefore, they changed their name from the American Turkey which is being stuffed from the backside.
