(Global Times) For some Westerners, anything could be weaponized, including cats. Yes, CATS.
Amid the spiraling crisis in Ukraine, a ludicrous news story hit the headlines: Russian cats are sanctioned.
The Fédération Internationale Féline, an NGO of cat registries founded in Belgium, announced on Tuesday a ban on Russian-bred cats from its shows, and cat owners who live in Russia are also banned from the organization.
This is the tip of the iceberg among a growing number of drama queens in Western countries who have jumped into a so-called anti-war campaign, with their moves going far beyond people's understanding, even imagination. Cats are only one target on the very long list.
FIFA and its European counterpart UEFA decided that all Russian teams shall be suspended from participating in both FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice. Performances of Russian ballets have been canceled across the UK. University of Milan-Bicocca in Italy decided to remove courses on Fyodor Dostoevsky, a notable Russian author, from its program. Valery Gergiev, a star Russian maestro, was fired as chief conductor of the Munich Philharmonic.
Turns out sports, arts, and science aren't apolitical; they all have crystal clear borders in the eyes of some Western forces. Dostoevsky died over 140 years ago, but his legacy couldn't survive the wave of the West's anti-Russia sentiment. If the trend goes on, Tetris, a puzzle video game created by a Soviet software engineer, should shiver for possibly being aimed at next. And young Western generations may have to bid adieu to the periodic table, the tabular display of the chemical elements invented by Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev.
Gergiev was fired because he refused to denounce Russia's latest actions against Ukraine, even if the mayor of Munich demanded that he should. Yet, how should we define the behavior of asking someone to publicly condemn his own motherland and government? Perhaps the only description that can be tossed out is - brutal and barbaric. Public institutions can make rules for its employees on what not to talk about, but they have no right to require anyone to say anything against their home country. Artists are supposed to unite people from political disputes. But now they are being torn apart.
This is a crude invasion of politics into global exchanges in Western society. "It may even be a new type of 'color revolution,'" Lü Xiang, a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times. Lü noted that to a large extent, the Russia-Ukraine conflict is a warfare of information.
Western media outlets and politicians have no interest in informing its audience of the cautiousness the Russian troops have tried to show and maintain. On the contrary, they desperately exaggerate the situation of the war and tried hard to paint a scene where Russian troops are "invading" intensively, the Ukraine people are resisting heroically, and the anti-war waves are boiling all over the world. Yet this whole set of stories is simply choreographed by the West, according to Lü.
In Joe Biden's first State of the Union speech, delivered on Wednesday, not a single word was uttered to encourage Russia and Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table. Biden was busy blaming Russia, emphasizing Washington will step up sanctions against Moscow. Mainstream US and European media even use pictures and videos that have nothing to do with Ukraine to show the "war situation" in Ukraine. In this atmosphere filled with anti-Russia hysteria, people and organizations naturally follow suit, Lü said.
The more absurd their sanctions are, the more it proves how easily the West could lose its temper, as it becomes toothless. They can vent their anger against Russian cats effortlessly, but do they have the nerve to cut all oil and gas trade with Russia?
Why cats, arts and sports? What can they possibly do wrong: Attack a country or beat the drum of war? They are innocent. The problem lies in those incompetent Western politicians and elites. They do not dare to resolve the issue militarily, or be willing to fix the conundrum through talks. As a result, irrelevant elements are picked up, politicized and even weaponized. Worse, instead of anti-war, the moves are making the situation worse.
And what are the ramifications?
Will China be next?
Is that the plan; for the World to bifurcate and Russia and China develope a multi-lateral World order dumping the "worthless paper" USD.
The gold-bugs are pondering Russia backing the rouble with gold, having an M0 of $115bn but gold reserves of more than that even at current prices.
That would force the Great Satan to follow suit as there's already the prospect of a hyperinflationary run on the "worthless paper" USD, even before it started confiscating "worthless paper" USD reserve holdings.
The bankers will ensure we stay in debt. The pharmaceutical companies will ensure we stay sick. The weapons manufacturers will ensure we keep going to war. The media will ensure we are prevented from knowing the truth. The Western government will ensure all this is done legally. Once you understand this you understand everything.
It's cheaper to seize than to buy the chocolate, isn't it? The EU is seizing yachts etc. The U.S. has also frozen the foreign exchange reserves of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, and $643 billion from Russia. Wait a minute, almost forgot the 9 billion they grabbed from Afghanistan. The reason is that they were upset about being chased out from Afghanistan. Now children are starving to death. Sickening, that's all there is to say.
The US' State department's Derek Chollet has in so many words warned China not to support a sanctioned Russia on pains of getting hit with secondary sanctions herself. This is like what the US had done to ZTE with Iran.
Although the situation going forward is fluid, some scenarios can be drawn now:
1. Russia has to reclaim the whole of Ukraine; failure to do so will mean Ukraine will become a Nato launching pad of perpetual insurgencies into Moscow like what happened after Chechnya;
2. Administrating a pro-Moscow Ukraine will however be as difficult as what De Gaulle had experienced in French-occupied Algeria;
3. Moreover, the Ukraine situation will spark a second cold-war remilitarization of Europe beyond Nato's present security architecture;
4. At the least, more Nato troops will be permanently stationed in buffer states like Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Hungary; Finland and Sweden may also be admitted; US troops may return in larger numbers into Poland, Germany and the UK; the UK may beef up Gibraltar;
5. Seeing the UN vote as 141 against and 35 for, Turkey may ice its power balancing and acquiesce more energetically to Nato's demands, after supplying Ukraine with its drones; it may even replace its S-400 with Thaad;
6. There is some chorus in the US to sanction Russia's oil exports; however one US fracker has admitted US shale production can't replace Russian volume at the moment; moreover, such a sanction would spike inflation after oil hits USD200;
7. The west's sanctions on Russia are severe; not only on its banks but also on its central bank's holdings of dollar-denominated assets in western banks, effectively seizing Russia's means to shore its ruble from falling further and thus reducing its convertibility and value overseas;
8. The ancillary weapons have also been deployed; mobile payment carriers, oil companies, insurance agencies; ship transporters have withdrawn and investments have dried up and Russian shareholdings in foreign businesses are frozen; more than cats, Russia's athletes and academics have been marginalized;
9. What is apparent now is that Europe is more united than it had appeared to be and the US can magnify its sanctions as a weapon of denial through its European network to deny access to their import markets while exporting domestic destabilization, scaling up military buildups, generating global perceptions and soon, weaponizing cyberattacks, including cybercurrency seizures.
10. While this is happening, over a million Ukrainians have poured into Poland and Hungary; the exodus will torrent in the coming weeks in which case Moscow will have to send more Russians to inhabit and run the factories and wheat fields of Ukraine;
11. There is not enough gold on hand to back any transaction device to replace the petrodollar;
12. The dark side of this planet has surfaced and it will not be the same again for many years to come. That's a huge tragedy for all. Better check what Nostradamus had to say about this times.

“But the decision of the International Paralympic Committee, which only yesterday announced that Russians and Belarusians will be able to take part in the Beijing Games, but today in a cowardly way and under obvious pressure, is changing its position – this is the height of cynicism and double standards.
- Russia lashes out at ‘illegal’ Beijing Paralympics ban
That's a violation of the IOC's OWN RULES.
The Great Satan has also expelled 132 of Russia's permanent mission to the UN: "China concerned by Washington expelling UN diplomats".
Again, that's a violation of the UN rules.
This is all designed as provocations.
Like Libya, Iran, Venezuela and Iraq, Russia is dumping the "worthless paper" USD. The Great Satan illegally invaded LIbya and Iraq but the EU completely failed to impose sanctions on the Great Satan and poodle.
Europe is dependent on russian energy supplies. Will they demand that Russia accept "worthless paper" USD? These are all akin to finding the head of your favourite horse in your bed; a gangster threat.
Blame President Putin
Like the claim that 5G causes Covid-19, this has the air of theatrics. Presumably, it's to signal that it's not real, so that people don't start attacking ethnic Russians.
Petrol prices where I live have just been bumped up by a big margin. The administration of cokehead war criminal, BoJo the Clown, removed anti-competitive legislation which blocked petrol outlets from colluding on price.
They've also banned insurance companies from offering a better deal on fresh customers to prevent motorists from shopping around.
They pulled the same trick with energy bills, imposing a cap, knowing full well that energy suppliers offered cheap deals funded by charging other customers more.
Empty shelves too are designed to make the sheeple panic buy a more expensive item. But that left the poorest struggling, so doesn't really work.
As well as blaming China (or rather president Xi) for Covid-19 and higher prices, they hope to blame Russia (or rather president Putin) for Ukraine and higher prices.
The Great Satan and poodle are so bankrupt, insolvent and desperate that they're robbing their own sheeple on the highways in the most ridiculsous FARCE in all of history.
