It is reported that New Zealand is not going along with other Five Eyes members in expanding its role in dealing with China. NZ is breaking with Five Eyes to chart its own course dealing with China, particularly opposing the Five Eyes' expansion of its original role of sharing intelligence, but later expanded to dealing with China on other issues like Xinjiang and Hong Kong!
Foreign Affairs Minister Mahuta said New Zealand didn't favour invoking the Five Eyes for "messaging out on a range of issues that really exist out of the remit of the Five Eyes".
"We are uncomfortable with expanding the remit of the Five Eyes," she said.
Thumbs up to th smart New Zealanders; they know which side of the bread is buttered; China is NZ's largest trading partner!
