This post was edited by HailChina! at 2014-10-2 14:40 Today I bought a new phone from my local Telstra Shop. Telstra is Australias biggest and most trusted telecommunications provider and I am a loyal Telstra customer. I dont know anything about phones but I just wanted to get something understated. ( not an iphone ) I was happy to see a Chinese phone stocked in the Telstra Shop. I have heard good things about the Chinese brand Huawei so I decided to buy the well priced Huawei Ascend Y530. I think it is great that Chinese brand Huawei and Telstra have a partnership. I have not purchased a phone for years so I was kind of surpised how serious an event it has become. I had to show the Telstra guy my license to be able to buy a phone. I had no idea we needed photo id here in Australia to buy a phone. I guess it is a good idea to protect children. Anyway, while the Telstra guy and I were activating my phone, I noticed that my local Telstra shop uses Lenovo computers and I thought that was cool. It seems that Telstra has great confidence in leading Chinese brands and that is a great endorsement. So, like I said, I am no phone expert. I just knew the phone was Chinese and I like that Chinese brands are becoming more popular and I want to support them. It looked fine and the price seemed reasonable. ( I like Chinese price points and Chinese value for money ) I wasnt sure if it was a 'smartphone' or not but it seemed smart enough for me. I just had a quick read of a review and it said the Hauwei Ascend Y530 is a 'budget smartphone' with some nice style points. I think it will suit me fine. I see Huawei as being a major phone brand of the future that will compete strongly with Apple and Sumsung. I think that we need more competition in the phone market and I am a happy supporter of Huawei. Represent! (: |

I'm agree your viewpoint. and feel little pity for so many chinese youngers waste so many money to have IPHONE. for some job freshers this phone maybe cost their more than 3 month salary. but it's China, most people still think domestic brand cellphone just worth less than 1000RMB, if it more price offered, some my friend will say"the domestic it's worth so much!" but for IPHONE their never think is worth how much it is, just want buy one any way.
I hope chinese will like HUAWEI or other chinese brand cellphone: |
Hey mate. Thanks for the info. I am happy with the phone and it suits my needs well. If I was more needy I may have gone with the iphone I guess but probably not because I dont like that so many people have them. To me owning an iphone is pretty lame and boring. I also fail to see how an iphone can be a status thing when so many people have them, even the poor. |

Wonder today's phone like a small PC can do more interesting things you want. shopping, map, book, video play, receive and send Email, net chating, find friend, etc., I changed more than 10 cellphones ever, about 5 smart phones. I didn't had Iphone, because it's too expensive. like the last model Iphone6, in china the price is more than 5000RMB. Iphone plus is dear too. and that time the IPhone fans,(it's so large group in chinese) only buy Iphone6 form HK. and spend more money to get.so crazy. ![]() For me HUAWEI C199 is good enough. |
