Q4: Are there any English expressions that Chinese use a lot, but they are no longer or seldom used by native English-speakers now?

Chinese people love to use Chinese sayings, but native English speakers seldom use sayings  in conversation. Everyone knows them, so we find them tiresome.

This is true.

The better educated the group, the greater the collection of English words they use in their speech.

I was surprised by an educated Spanish citizen who spoke better English than many English citizens.

The word is "snooty" for upper class.


"Snotty" is green liquid coming out of the nose.

snot can also be a rude person. snot from a nose is mucus, but it doesn't have to be green
