A 35-year-old woman, Liang Ya, who worked as a manager at IBM's Shenzhen office, died at the entrance of Shuiwan subway station at 10:29am on February 17 in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province.

Liang received no first aid treatment for 50 minutes after she collapsed. Two citizens reported her collapse to subway workers at 10:32am.

According to a report in the Nandu Daily, when Liang collapsed, many people ignored her and passed on by. Subway staff and police officers were on the scene, but none of them held her hand or provided first aid treatment until the ambulance arrived and she was pronounced dead.
