Now that a nuclear war is brewing over the East China Sea, right next to Taiwan, it is reasonable for Taiwan to prevent such a disaster from happening right next to its residents, who would be exposed to dangerous levels of radiation overnight.
Nobody listens to President Ma's theme that the resolution of the Tiaoyutai dispute should be purely by peaceful negotiation.
Japan, for one, consistently refused to even negotiate over the sovereignty of Tiaoyutai.
So, the only way to solve the Gordian Knot is to cut it. Taiwan should send troops to occupy Tiaoyutai immediately, and declare it off limits to all powers, period. That way, they will have literally nothing to fight about, and will not use nuclear weapons and B52's, the biggest casualties of which must be the closest population centers, and that is, not Tokyo, not Beijing, but Taiwan.
Time to make history, President Ma, take Tiaoyutai now, or forever regret not having done something to save Taiwan from a nuclear holocaust that promises to be ten times worse than Fukushima.
