Perhaps the UN and Arab league should take care of their own problems and stop expecting the US to be World Police. The USA would have no problem handing over the job to someone else, except no other country seems to be willing.  China can have the job.

To Israel there is a much wider war in the offing since they have been urging a "redline on Iran" so the speech by the president only looks to launch at the "Syrian 'redline'" which has been discussed.

Wrong. The UN wanted a political solution over a year ago, and China and Russia blocked every effort to condemn what the Syrian government was doing. Russia still refuses to admit that the situation in Syria is out of control.
