So the photographer rushed out quickly and took all of these different shots of Urumqi, across many different locals, both daytime and evening ? In fact they could have been photographed at any recent time, there is no evidence in any that they are contemporaneous. As well, most local people would be kept in the dark about other events in Xingjiang or elsewhere due to media  blackouts e.g. phone, internet, newspaper, tv  by official censors.

The photos are thus no more than pretty  windowdressing pictures.
