I believe one must understand that the whites are happy with the West: if they were not, most of them would vote for third parties, bringing forth a completely new government system.  But 95% of whites voted for either Democrats or Republicans, indicating that they are happy with all the Western policies.  As such, it would be illogical to show sympathy when they actually like the status quo.

A good chance for the whites to have shown they did not support the political status quo would have been in the last election where they actually had the perfect chance to vote for the only candidate that would have completely altered the entire government system: Ron Paul.  But he only got 3% of the Republican primary vote, indicating that 97% of Republicans were happy with mainstream American politics.

So, there is no need to feel sympathy for Western whites since they are happy with the system.  Instead, just work on improving China.

People in this forum start threads like:

-Poor Americans are being tasered by police
-Poor Americans are being abused by police
-Poor Americans have no rights
-Poor Americans facing cruel prisons for victimless crimes like drugs
-Poor Americans are being poisoned by junk food, artificial sweeteners, pesticides, GM foods, and so forth
-Poor Americans have no healthcare
-Poor Americans are all becoming homeless
-Poor Americans don't have many jobs
-Etc.

These complaints are unwarranted because the Westerners don't think they are "poor"; they are happy with the system, so to be rational, please stop making such complaints; instead, be happy for the Westerners. {:soso_e181:}

This type of statement and the rest of the comments which follow it provides a perfect example of the near complete lack of understanding that Chinese people have of democratic politics.

I'm not Chinese.

For a start, "the West" is not just USA yet the writer seems only to want to discuss the election in this country.

USA is a valid proxy for all the other White countries: the West is pretty much all uniform now with respect to culture, politics, ideology, laws, science, etc.  And organizations like EU, UN, NATO, WTO, and so forth keeps on increasing the level of uniformity among all the white countries.

Secondly, the writer uses the phrase "the whites" and mentions that "95%" voted for either of the two major US parties. Where could such a figure possibly come from ? Does it mean that there was someone posted at every electoral office specifically tasked with deciding voters' skin colour ?

Demographic breakdowns of voting patterns in the USA is found all over the mainstream media.

Then what about the many millions of Americans who did not vote at all in the election ?

You mean the people on the left side of the IQ bell curve, those too lazy and unintellectual to vote, or even care?  They were too busy playing XBox and didn't want their pizza to get cold.  These "people" don't even matter, they are not even people, just tools: walking bags of urine and excrement that we use for brainless labor.

Finally, this subject does not even concern you: I have no desire to change the West: you folks can run it however you see fit. {:soso_e181:}

Ron Paul's foreign policies were no good.  Some of his ideas are correct. Most Americans are totally ignorant of economics and better policies and politics.

Agree

In addition; Many Americans are fed up with the current status quo. The lack of voting during elections is showing the demeanor that many have given up, or don't care.
