I meant to say STD's in general-they dont bother with or even ask about condoms over there.

Basically your statement is true, but remember that the majority of Americans do not live in the city where public transportation is feasible.  That is, city buses and subways, all have access to long distance buses, trains, and planes.  I miss my truck.
