Commander Zglobal!

Have you ever look inside a PC nowadays.
It's bloody simple to be assembled by ROBOTS once you have the KITS produced.
It's possible for APPLE to assemble their units COMPLETELY by ROBOTS.

But, the components are another matter!

Quite right G D. However robots will help America more than China.
In fact they will be one more r ...

1. If Apple fully return to U.S. = loss more profits bcos no U.S. people can work below USD500.
2. Replace by Robots = U.S. unemployment. The reason Apple return is forced by your President to boost employment...
3. Rare materials from China = another cost for logistic back to U.S.
4. Quality = if China workers doesnt produce quality/ISO...Apple will not be there in the 1st place...

where got people doing business to lose money like that? if so, means Cook is an i.diota~
if so, then your Apple is bound to lose to Samsung~

"one line of Mac computers will be made exclusively in the United States, but did not say which one."

- so no "back to USA", but one (probably "exclusive", and for sure more expensive) line of products will be assembled there.

Another way to convince the Customers that Apple is "American", while for a long time it is Asian (meaning of production).

I know some companies that buy almost "readymade" items from China, then add some little parts or just put together the "halves" ... and here we are! product made in Europe/USA/Russia... etc.

This product will be bought by nationalists (who don't like "made in China"), or the people who are OK to pay a lot more to have "better brand". It can also help in some issues about taxes and PR.

Anyway...

This is not something That I would be concern of. Until now there were no Apple product that would convince me to buy it instead of other with the same functionality ;)

...but I know some Chinese/European/Russian(etc.) people, who buy only LEVI's produced in China, but bought from USA... this kind of Customer also can be interested in Apple "made in USA".

2.  ...

reason being so as not to have to pay any people.
