I'm cooking when I have time and I'm in the "cooking mood". This is my hobby, not must.

With hungry kids and a wife whose cooking is poor it is a must for me

Donuts
www_DSCF0700.jpg

This time I made donuts in "mixed style".

In traditional Polish recipe - there is a milk. Here - I used a warm water.
Treaditionally Polish donuts have rounded shape. Here - I made rounded "mini-donuts" and (a little Chinese style) twisted like a oil-sticks.

Dough:
- wheat flour
- dried yeast (about 20g/1kg)
- eggs (4 yolks, and 1 egg)
- warm water
- sugar (no more than 6 table spoons /1kg
- a pinch of salt
- vanilla essence

...and a lot of cooking oil for a frying

Preparation:
- solve sugar in about one glass of warm water, then add the yeast and a spoon of wheat flour, mix it and wait
- add a pinch of salt to the flour, mix
- mix 4 yolks and 1 egg
after about 15 minutes
- add the yeast (solved in the water) into the flour
- add the eggs
- add the vanilla essence
- mix it all together, adding some flour or warm water if needed
- when the dough is ready (not sticking to Your hand) - let it rest and grow for about 1 hour (should double the size)
after one hour
- knead the dough once again, roll it flat, and cutt rounded pieces
- rest of the dough knead again and set aside
now let it rest at list 30 minutes - donuts will grow again

Frying:
- heat a large amount (1 liter is a minimum) of cooking oil (in a metal pot or deep skillet) - 180 C will do
- fry the donuts on both sides (donuts have to be floating)

- when there is rest of the dough left - form it in the 0,5-1 cm thin "ropes" about 30 cm long
- bend the  "ropes: in half, and twist together
- then fry as the forunded donuts was fried first

I served it with a powdered sugar, and traditional Polish plum jam (not very sweet).

Quick breakfast, fussion style
semi-soft boiled egg with wasabi

jajko_wasabi.jpg

In traditional Polish cuisine soft-boiled eggs are sometimes served with the horseradish (grated, and processed with some lemon juice or just a citric acid).
In China - I choosen wasabi (bought readymade).
Yup. Much stronger, but fits perfectly with the self-made salty rolls (with some butter) and a pinch of pepper.

No recipe - because it is too easy.

One hint - because I like the eggs with solid white and liquid yolk, for the cold (from the fridge) eggs I start cooking it in the cold water, and boil 3 minutes, then cool down (a little - just to stop cooking) under the stream of water. The result is usually perfect.

What about the hamburger?
Have You ever done it at home:?
www_IMG_7726.jpg

My recipe for the pan-fried hamburger with the fried egg.

Ingredients:
- hamburger bun (bought at the supermarket)
- hamburger (self-made some time before - it is just the minced meat, egg, slat, pepper and few other spices, mixed together and then fried in the hamburger shape)
- slice of the green pepper
- small egg
- ketchup or the other sauce

Cooking:
- put the slice of the pepper on the pan, and then put the egg inside
www_IMG_7719.jpg

- beside the frying egg is the best place to reheat/fry the hamburger, and the bun
www_IMG_7720.jpg

- when the egg almost ready - put it on the burgerm, and the buns also needs to be reheated on both sides
www_IMG_7721.jpg

- now put it all together (still on the pan), adding the slice of cheese, and sauce
www_IMG_7724.jpg

- when the cheese is soft - hamburger is ready

It is not only better in taste, but probably also much healthier that all the fast-food burgers like McD and KFC

Quick and easy dish
pineapple pancakes

It is very easy, and I'm sure that everybody can make it.

Preparation time is about 10 minutes or less, frying - about 5 minutes (per one pan).
From the one pineapple, one or two eggs, and half a package of the self-rising flour You will have about 10 pancakes.

First - You need the pineapple.

www_IMG_7773.jpg

then You cut the outer layer out
www_IMG_7774.jpg

and remove the "dots"
www_IMG_7775.jpg

cut it in the cubes

It can be served hot, or cold.
I prefer hot - when the pineaple cubes inside cake is steaming :)
