After the scandal had been exposed on the internet, the city began to have a new Party number 1 leader.  From the latest news reports, the corrupted leader probably was a "naked" leader.

A "naked" leader is that the rest of his family members have already thrown away China's citizenship and joined another country, which usually is U.S.A and European countries.

It told us that Central government need to open the assets and income of high-rank leaders to the public as soon as possible.

I do not think so.

As we all know that Wang lijun was turned down by US embassy.

And if our government determined to take him down, nowhere he can hide.

Is China working with the US to get him and the money back?

The US, like any developed country, would not deport a corrupt Chinese official to China as he would be sentenced to death there. That would striaghtly hurt the Geneva Convention of Refugees and thus break international law - an act worthy of UN sanctions.

It's a tad too little money to go to Lichtenstein.
He could try Switzerland.

Try Lichtenstein with only at least maybe 0.2 trillion RMB embezzled money.
Maybe everynowhere could give more detailed Numbers.

I don't know about Lichtenstein, but Switzerland has, contrary to popular believe, much stricter money laundring laws and much tighter control of foreign official's money than the US. Go to Switzerland or Lichtenstein if you don't want people to know how much money you have - but better go to the US if you are a corrupt official, the legal situation is better for you then. That's why most dictators keep their assets in Delaware, US, rather than Switzerland.

Moreover, European countries generally have a much more narrow understanding of international law than the US and a Chinese official living in Europe might well be deported to China when the PRC abandons capital punishment for corruption, whilst this most likely wouldn't happen under the American legal system.
Thus, if I were in the official's shoes, I'd probably also prefer the US over Europe.
