Dr Randy Short is a member of the Baltimore Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference [SCLC] and a member of Dignity, Human Rights and Peace. In a phone interview with Press TV's U.S. Desk on Thursday, he talked about police brutality.
"There have been several high profile slayings and murders of, in particular, African-American men by [be there] security guards, or law enforcement authorities in San Francisco. All of this shows the militarization and the greater fascistic overplay by a law enforcement for the elite that run the American society," Dr Short said.
He continued that black people are usually the targets but "eventually, more whites and others will find themselves treated brutally if not deadly ... you've got women being tasered who were pregnant in Chicago. Women being kicked [while] pregnant in Atlanta. A man that was tasered because he wanted to know why his wife was being harassed in Florida so that is America. A very brutal and violent society which it should come as no surprise."
