Theodore Roosevelt was a man of all time. Sickly as a child overcame physical handicaps on his way to building a strong mind and body. He was born into a wealthy family though rarely used his name and wealth.  Home schooled (as most wealthy families raise their young) in a wide variety of languages, theories, history and mathematics proved to be the foundation for an unusual American.
Determined to make a difference in every aspect of living he was the consumate student of government, military and personal religious convictions. The accomplishments (and failures) stand by themselves. Also a student of "Soft Power" in an age where "shoot first ask questions later" was the rule. His interest in military history drove him to write a multi-volume work which is still in use today by West Point, the American ground forces acedemy of higher learning. He finished the last volume at the age of 23.
For his efforts in keeping the beaquty of the wilderness were second to none as he pioneered National Preservation land projects. Somewhere near the middle of his accomplishments he adopted a personal motto, "Walk Softly and Carry a Big Stick" . The accomplishments are too lengthy and varied widely to list. however it is worthy to note he belived in "Soft Power" and was not afraid to use it should the need arise.
