Hollande expressed that France needed good relations with China, especially on serious issues such as debt crisis. However, his party relies on values-based international diplomacy.

Will China-France ties go backward after Hollande taking presidency?

I don't see reason why?

China have no unresolved issues with France.

Good working relations i would predict.

Values based diplomacy as an Issue?
You think so?
How and why?

Just look at current german-chinese ties compared with the current french ones.
And consider that the chinese know exactly that Germany stands up to certain standards and values and will not in any way or for any reason back down on them, and that no matter in whichever way china may try to threaten germany, Germany does not let China or anyone else blackmail itself,
while the french gouvernment kept the red carpets rolled out well, the shoe polish next to their toungues, their scrotums well lubed and at all times their spines 100% flexible.
And now just look at the ties and compare them.
See any Problem for China to respect values on the other side that are truly respected?
Problem with Hollande, he's just as good as any other left at judging anyone but himself to his standards, and blatantly disregard them for his own.

It will make no difference to China France relations. Why should it? He is a "socialist" too, so in fact you should become closer if anything.

I don't think so. The Socialist Party is very conservative and traditional. China should be aware of France's new policy. Whether Hollande will meet with Dalai Lama is a test.
