China's Ministry of Land and Resources has recently released the top 25 spa destinations in China, all of which are endowed with unparalleled high quality hot springs and tantalizing spa environments to provide visitors with a unique and simply stunning experience.

NO.25 Sinan County, Guizhou Province 贵州思南

Sinan County is located in western Tongren Prefecture of Guizhou Province, 375 kilometers from the provincial capital city of Guiyang. Located in eastern Shangdong Province, Weihai is a major seaport and one of the most livable cities in the world. The city has nine natural hot springs, accounting for more than half of Shandong's total. It's said that the spa tradition and culture began as early as the Warring States Period (475B.C.-221B.C.). Presently, there are four natural hot springs which have been developed for spa, medical and other purposes. Located in Xi'an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province, Lintong District is teeming with hot springs. Lintong, thought to be the birthplace of China's spa tradition and culture, is home to the renowned Huaqing Hot Spring, or Huaqing Palace. The resort lies some 30 kilometers east of Xi'an, with the gorgeous Li Mountain as its backdrop. The development and utilization of springs here can be traced back some 6,000 years, making it China's first spring resort.
Endowed with four natural hot springs with a constant year-round water temperature of around 44°C, the spring site was originally a winter imperial attraction favored by those emperors who established their capitals in Shaanxi during the five feudal dynasties including Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang. Huaqing Palace, the temporary palace built in 723 by the Tang Emperor Xuanzong (685-762) for himself and his beloved consort Yang Yuhuan, made the springs even more famous. The palace has also been mentioned by many famous Chinese poets and writers throughout the ages.

Lindian County, known as the home of the black-necked cranes, boasts the largest geothermal field in China. It's located in the western central part of Heilongjiang Province, 275 kilometers away from the capital city of Harbin. Ba'nan is the largest district of Chongqing Municipality, and it boasts the richest geothermal resources of all. Rich in geothermal resources, the city boasts the following famous hot spring resorts and spa facilities: Shandong Guantang Hot Spring (International) Resort, Zhichunhu Hot Spring (International) Resort and Imperial Hot Spring in Tangtou Town, Hedong District; Songshan Easpring Resort, Victoria Spa Resort and Yangdu Hotspring Scenic Area in Yinan County; Zhisheng Tangquan Hot Spring Tourism Resort, Dongfang Ruihai International Hot Spring Hotel and Xingyun Datang Spa Scenic Area in Yishui County.
Tangtou, an ancient town built as early as 86 B.C., is famed for its spa culture and amenities. Records state that ancient emperors and historical figures including Emperor Qin Shihuang (the first Emperor of China), Confucius, and Zhuge Liang often visited Tangtou and enjoyed the spa facilities on offer here. Shandong Guantang Hot Spring (International) Resort is the most renowned of the resorts, , and is dubbed "The No.1 Outdoor Hot Spring in Eastern China". It features a sports area, therapeutic area, ecological spa center, swimming pools and recreational hall.
