杜甫当年来到成都时，觉得成都景色宜人，便在此定居，自己建立了杜甫草堂，由于当时贫穷，他还写了不少诗来向当地的社会名流索要一些花草树木，自己亲手栽培，他看上了浣花溪旁的一块宝地，便依溪建。
