That Iran is a target would seem to be beyond doubt.

The US seems to be preparing for a multi front attack - with forces still deployed in Iraq and with forces deployed in Afghanistan.

But something that is interesting is that the US has decided recently to move numbers of MBTs (main battle tanks) into the SW region of Afghanistan - since August 2010 more and more Abrams tanks have been flown in some are deployed fighting the Afghans - but Afghanistan is not what any military strategist would call "tank friendly" (as the Soviets found out).

Sure the tamks can find a use battering down the walls of the many family compounds that dot the flatlands - but the main strongpoints of the Afghan freedom fighters are the mountainous regions where tanks fall victim to attacks on their "soft spots"(topsides and rear end) and IEDs in the narrow mountain passes.

But the real value of moving heavy tanks into Afghanistan would be to spearhead an assault into Iran from the North in conjunction with another attack from the West thus forcing the Iranians to divide their defences on the two fronts as well as maintain a large defensive element in the South in case of amphibious assault.

Are preparations being made for the attack on Iran? Initiatally 17 Abrams were flown in in 2010 but since then more squadrons have been flown in with latest estimate that there are now more than 100 Abrams in SW Afghanistan. But very few actually being deployed against the Afghan fighters.
Man created god before god created man and the world has been in turmoil ever since. Dots freak some people out - so they join them with lines that aren't really there.
