The US never has Asian soap operas during prime time.

Do you think that it's because nobody can understand the language (yes, they could be dubbed as western ones are in China) or the significance of the stories? In this case, nobody, except maybe Chinese folks in the US, would watch those shows on TV, Chinese ones during primetime that is. It's funny how everyone, those of you who claim to be Chinese,  think that China needs to have everything "equal" with everybody. China has a lot of growing up, and learning, to do about the real world and it's place in it. China is simply one nation, albeit a great one with a fair few people and forex reserves, but still only one amongst many. It might pay you folks to remember that. It deserves no more, or less than others but it needs to realise that it cannot automatically demand respect for it, and it's culture. This must be learned, then earned, but first, it has to be in demand! China's culture isn't in demand in the way that western culture is, in the PRC....it's that simple and it's not the wests fault. It's China's because obviously, there is some deficiency in the Chinese culture that Chinese folks find can be made up with western culture.
I don't say this to sound superior because I'm not. I say this because it's my observance after living in China for a number of years whereas you haven't.

Forced to watch western things. Is there no remote control in your home for your TV?

Ignorant whiteman!
As example, here are some simple statistics for little Hong Kong.

Population 7 millions.
Last count in 2007,  there were less than 100,000 foreigners with English usage their mother tongue.
There are four free terrestrial TV stations in HK.
Two are in Cantonese, and the other two are in English.
So these greedy Anglos, number less than 1/150 th of 1% HK's population have grabed 50% share of HK's free terrestrial televison stations.
This is not forcing Chinese to watch crap Anglo TV?

Don't your arguement apply to China and other non-English speaking countries?
It is the likes of them cancer drink and dunce food Yankee companies, Coca Cola, Pepsi and McDonalds that's forcing foreigners to watch their sicko and trashy American soap opera show.

Who forces Chinese to use those products or watch US tv? It sure isn't the west holding a gun at China's head and ordering like a nazi..." you must vatch ziss". If Chinese folks didn';t like that stuff, there'd be no market and they'd be all gone as you wish them to be.
