the trouble is, contemporary Chinese culture ignores the individual in distress unless "family" (remember Yue Yue)

socialism includes a culture of welfare towards disadvantaged individuals in society, whether we know them or not

China has raging profiteering and mercantilism

Capital does tend to flow to the highest return, but in a mercantilist situation, the final price of goods, eg steel may be subsidised to below competitors' costs, putting them out of business

this subsidy comes directly from the Chinese govt

that is not capitalist, but rather, mercantilist

AFAIK, Mr Greendragon, USA placed tariffs on Chinese steel due to sale at below cost (putting Americans out of business)
